Esha Singh from Hyderabad made history by winning her first individual world championship medal. The talented shooter secured bronze in the women’s 25-meter pistol event at the ISSF World Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
The young athlete delivered a strong performance with a final score of 30 points. She finished behind Yang Jiin from Korea, who took gold with 40 points, and Yao Qianxun from China, who earned silver with 38 points.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Esha, who already holds titles as former Asian, Mixed Team, and Junior World champion. Her bronze medal represents her breakthrough moment on the individual world championship stage.
India concluded their participation in the 10 Olympic events with remarkable success. The country collected seven medals total: one gold, three silver, and three bronze medals. This performance represents India’s best-ever showing at this championship.
On the overall medal standings, India sits in third place with three gold, five silver, and four bronze medals. China leads the competition with 10 gold medals, while Korea holds second position with six gold medals.
For Esha personally, this bronze represents her third individual ISSF medal of the year. She previously won gold and silver at earlier World Cup competitions. Her competitive season will conclude at the ISSF World Cup Finals in Doha this December.
