    Hyderabad: The L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (L&TMRHL) has won the Railway Safety Excellence Award for 2025 at the ET Infra Rail Show in New Delhi. This honor highlights outstanding efforts in the Indian rail and metro sectors.

    The ET Infra Rail Awards by The Economic Times recognize significant achievements in India’s rail and metro infrastructure. The awards focus on safety, sustainability, technology, digital progress, and urban connectivity, celebrating organizations that are transforming rail-based transport in India.

    Among top metro systems nationwide, Hyderabad Metro Rail excelled due to its strong emphasis on commuter safety, integrated risk management, and technological advancements.

    Upon receiving the award, KVB Reddy, MD & CEO of L&TMRHL, remarked that the award is a reminder of their duty to shape urban mobility’s future. He emphasized that safety is a mindset at L&TMRHL, influencing every decision and innovation.

    KVB Reddy also participated in a discussion about the “Future of Urban Rail & Smart Stations,” sharing insights into L&TMRHL’s vision for modern transit. He pointed out that technology, commuter-focused services, and continuous improvements have ensured Hyderabad Metro's success in punctuality, safety, and reliability.

    Addressing challenges in public-private partnerships (PPP), Reddy mentioned issues like delayed clearances and financial uncertainties. He highlighted the need for strong policy support, fair risk-sharing, and better collaboration between government and private sectors to enhance sustainable infrastructure development.
