Hyderabad Metro has announced a new fare update starting May 24, along with a special 10% discount for all passengers. The offer will apply across all fare zones and on all three metro lines.
This decision follows recommendations from a special Fare Fixation Committee, which was formed to ensure the metro system remains financially stable in the long run.
L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad), the company operating the service, made the move after receiving feedback from daily commuters. The goal is to balance affordable travel with rising operational costs.
KVB Reddy, Managing Director of L&T Metro Rail, explained that updating fares was necessary. However, to ease the impact on passengers, they decided to offer a flat 10% discount on the revised prices.
