The demand for VIP and personalized number plates is growing rapidly in Hyderabad. On Tuesday, the Manikonda office of the Telangana Regional Transport Authority (RTA) held an auction that brought in a huge amount — ₹52.6 lakh.
Many people and companies now see special number plates as a status symbol. This has led to intense competition during auctions. The most expensive plate sold was “TG 07 R 9999,” which was bought by Congruent Developers for ₹12.49 lakh.
Other notable bids included “TG 07 AA 0009,” purchased by Rudra Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd. for ₹8.5 lakh, and “TG 07 AA 0001,” which Fuji Software Solutions bought for ₹4.77 lakh.
RTA officials said that interest in fancy number plates is still very strong. Buyers are eager to get unique numbers to make their vehicles stand out. The department expects this trend to continue, bringing in good revenue from future auctions.
