The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in southern Odisha and nearby parts of North Coast Andhra. Weather conditions show surface circulation extending up to 5.8 km above sea level, affecting Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, and Interior Karnataka. These areas are set to receive moderate to heavy rain over the next four days.
Telangana will also see heavy rain, with thunderstorms and winds blowing at 40 to 50 km/h. Residents should stay alert due to the potential for severe weather.
On June 13, the Disaster Management Agency noted that several districts in Andhra Pradesh—such as Parvathipurammanyam, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Kakinada, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nandyal, and Anantapur—are likely to experience moderate rain and thundershowers. Light rain is expected in other districts.
For Saturday, June 14, moderate to heavy rain is predicted in districts including Alluri Seetharamaraju, Anakapalle, Kakinada, Konaseema, and East Godavari. Light to moderate rain is expected in Parvathipurammanyam, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, Nandyal, and YSR Kadapa.
As of 7 pm on Thursday, rainfall figures were 64.5 mm in Malakapalle (East Godavari), 61.7 mm in Macherla (Palnadu), 55 mm in Kakani, 54 mm in Reddygunta (Chittoor), and 47.5 mm in Bhimulavaripalem (Tirupati).
In Telangana, light rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas like Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda. Nalgonda may reach a high of 37 degrees Celsius, while Mahabubnagar could see a low of 27.1 degrees Celsius.
