The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has alerted people in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh about upcoming heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. The weather is expected to worsen in the next few hours, and residents are urged to stay cautious.
In Telangana, heavy rain is likely in several districts including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Nalgonda, and even the state capital, Hyderabad. The IMD has asked people in these areas to stay alert and monitor weather updates closely.
Over in Andhra Pradesh, similar stormy conditions are expected. The IMD has identified the East Godavari and West Godavari regions, along with Alluri Seetharamaraju, Manyam, Srikakulam, and Anakapalle districts, as areas at risk of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Officials are especially concerned about low-lying areas where flooding is possible. People living in these zones should be extra careful and avoid unnecessary travel.
Residents across both states are advised to take safety measures, stay indoors during extreme weather, and be ready for any emergencies. If possible, postpone travel or outdoor activities until the weather improves.
