Wanaparthy District: Adarsh Surabhi, the District Collector, emphasized the importance of promoting awareness about safe childbirth in government hospitals. His goal is to help poor pregnant women avoid unnecessary expenses at private hospitals.
On Friday morning, the Collector visited Pebber Primary Hospital. During his visit, he reviewed records related to pregnant women, including the Expected Date of Delivery (EDD) register, birth registration, and blood tests.
He engaged with the ASHA worker at Pebber Primary Health Center. They discussed the pregnant women brought to the center, the ANC tests conducted, and the places where deliveries occurred.
The Collector stressed that families should know about the available facilities and doctors in government hospitals, ensuring that women can have their babies there without incurring private hospital costs.
He instructed ASHA workers to make sure all pregnant women receive ANC treatments, take prescribed medicines, and consume nutritious food to prevent anemia. He urged them to encourage deliveries in government hospitals.
The Collector also recommended a strict implementation of the dry day program every Friday. He emphasized the importance of preventing stagnant water to avoid dengue. If dengue cases emerge, he suggested quickly identifying and eliminating sources. Blood tests should be conducted in nearby homes.
Patients visiting government hospitals with symptoms like fever, cold, and sore throat should undergo blood tests. If anyone tests positive with the RAT test, they should be immediately referred to the T-Hub for an ELISA test.
District Medical Health Officer Dr. Srinivasulu, along with Program Officers Dr. Sainath Reddy, Dr. Parimala, and other medical staff, were present.
