The BRS party is facing challenges as many of its leaders are switching to either BJP or Congress. Recently, BRS Secretary General and Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao left the party unexpectedly. He had held top positions in BRS before his departure. Keshava Rao met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss joining the Congress, along with his daughter, GHMC Mayor Vijayalakshmi.
After the meeting with Revanth Reddy, Keshava Rao announced his decision to join the Congress after being in BRS for ten years. Reports suggest that Keshava Rao also met with BRS chief KCR at a farmhouse in Erravelli. There were speculations in the media about KCR’s concern over Keshava Rao’s party switch. However, Keshava Rao expressed his loyalty to the Congress, stating that his political career began there and he plans to stay with the party until the end.
