Speaking at a press conference at Yashoda Hospital in Karimnagar on Friday, Dr. Krishna shared the case of Ravesh, a patient from Peddapalli district. Ravesh was critically ill due to a brain disease but was successfully treated by doctors at Somajiguda Yashoda Hospital. He initially had symptoms such as fever, dizziness, confusion, and loss of consciousness for a day. Due to his worsening condition, he had to be placed on a ventilator.

Doctors initially suspected severe meningitis. An MRI scan later revealed serious blood clots on the right side of his brain. Tests also showed high protein levels in his spinal fluid, along with low glucose and signs of infection. A specific bacteria, Streptococcus agalactiae, was found in his cerebrospinal fluid.

Ravesh was treated with antibiotics, anti-epileptic drugs, and other supportive treatments. Dr. Krishna explained that the bacteria responsible for this disease exist in every human body. If the infection spreads, quick treatment within 24 hours is crucial for recovery.

Although severe meningoencephalitis can be fatal, doctors stated that it is possible to treat the disease successfully in people of all ages. Dr. Krishna also warned that complications such as paralysis and seizures can occur. However, he reassured that with proper awareness and timely treatment, there is no need to panic.
