The Congress government has released a job calendar, bringing fresh hope to the unemployed youth in Karimnagar. The district has about 3.20 lakh unemployed individuals. The job calendar is expected to announce openings for various positions, including Groups 1, 2, 3 services, police, forest, Singareni, gurukul, medical, teacher, and teaching posts.

In the joint district, 34,254 candidates are set to take exams for 823 positions, including SGT, School Assistants, and PET posts. Those not selected can still prepare for the DSC exam scheduled for February next year. For police jobs, 30,213 people took the physical fitness test in 2022, and 15,212 of them qualified for the written test. Those who didn’t get jobs are now planning with the latest announcement in mind.

The district library in Karimnagar city is a popular spot for job seekers preparing for exams. Many youths visit daily, benefiting from resources like Rs 5 meals, purified water, modernized rooms, and 75,000 exam books. Assistant Librarian Sarita shared that the library has CCTV cameras and is open 22 hours a day, with police monitoring at night for safety.

A TGPSC Group 2 candidate, Ponnala Santhosh, expressed happiness about the job calendar release but noted concerns about the lack of an official stamp and ministerial sub-committee. He described the announcement as “written on plain white paper.”

Meanwhile, Sravani from Nizamabad, staying at a hostel in Karimnagar, visits the library to prepare for competitive exams. She feels somewhat reassured by the job calendar but wishes for more detailed vacancy information for better exam preparation.
