Hyderabad—Union Minister Kishan Reddy emphasized the vital role of the real estate sector in India’s future growth at the Credai Hyderabad Property Show 2025. The event took place at the Hitex Exhibition Center and was organized by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (Credai).
The theme of the show, ‘Choice is Yours’, highlighted a commitment to consumer-focused development. Reddy spoke about the deep emotional value of owning a home in India, describing it as more than just a structure but a space for family dreams. He stressed that meeting this aspiration requires collaboration among developers, regulators, and governments at all levels.
Reddy highlighted the Real Estate Regulation and Development Act (RERA), initiated in 2016 to bring transparency to the sector. He noted Telangana’s progress with a permanent regulatory system and appellate tribunal established in 2024, and over 10,000 projects and 4,000 agents now registered under RERA.
The Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s economic policies for lifting 20 crore people out of extreme poverty. He mentioned key initiatives like PM Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat, PM Ujjwala, and Ayushman Bharat that have improved living standards and increased home ownership aspirations.
Reddy pointed out that the rising middle class is benefiting from income tax exemptions up to Rs 12 lakh and lower RBI interest rates, allowing more families to buy homes. He added that planned GST reductions will ease financial burdens further.
With India’s economy currently at $4 trillion, Reddy projected it will grow to $35 trillion by 2047, in line with the ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ vision. He stated that improving ‘Ease of Living’ is a key focus of the Modi government, with real estate being crucial to this goal.
Reddy praised Credai for its work in urban development and consumer trust, urging continued collaboration to build a developed India by 2047. He concluded by noting that real estate is not just about constructing buildings but enhancing lives.
