Hyderabad: On Monday, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao expressed his appreciation for the Supreme Court’s temporary decision on the Waqf Amendment Act 2025.
Rama Rao stated that the BRS consistently raised concerns about the Act’s controversial parts. He noted that while pretending to be progressive, the Act could cause division and harm the country’s unity. “We challenged the Act’s problematic sections, questioning how someone determines who is a Muslim or how an official can decide Waqf property ownership,” said KTR. He emphasized that such issues could lead to divisive politics.
The BRS has always aimed to maintain the country’s communal harmony, focusing on unity rather than politics. In the Rajya Sabha, BRS strongly opposed the Act’s disputed parts.
The party is committed to defending the principles of a cohesive and powerful nation. “For BRS, the country’s unity is more crucial than politics. We want a strong and united India,” KTR highlighted.
KTR also pledged support to Muslims and minorities, recalling how the state advanced minority welfare under KCR’s leadership.
Under KCR’s rule, the state experienced no communal unrest, KTR noted. “We will safeguard this nation’s unity and oppose those attempting to disrupt it for political purposes,” he affirmed.
