Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to restore the Kancha Gachibowli forest lands. He called the court’s directions to protect wildlife on the land a major win for the environment.

Rama Rao was pleased that the Supreme Court recognized the Central Empowered Committee’s observation of a possible ₹10,000 crore fraud. The fraud involved mortgaging 400 acres of forest land in Kancha Gachibowli to a private company. He said this confirmed the BRS party’s claims that the land was illegally pledged.

Rao praised the court’s order to the Chief Wildlife Warden to protect the area’s wildlife. He said it was a big win for environmentalists, especially for those who worked hard to save Kancha Gachibowli. He thanked the students and faculty of Hyderabad Central University for their efforts in protecting the forest.

He also claimed that the court’s ruling proved that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy tried to misuse state resources worth ₹10,000 crore. According to him, this judgment shows that Revanth Reddy is working against the interests of Telangana’s people, forests, and wildlife.

KTR expressed hope that the Supreme Court’s decision would be a big step forward for environmental protection in Hyderabad and across Telangana.
