BRS working president, KT Rama Rao, recently sparked a controversy with his comments regarding women using RTC buses in Hyderabad. His remarks attracted criticism from ministers and prompted a notice from the Women’s Commission demanding an apology.

During a meeting at Telangana Bhavan, KT Rama Rao criticized the Congress government for not fulfilling promises made to women. He mentioned that the Congress had promised one tola of gold to women, yet many marriages have occurred without any such gift, not even a tola of steel from CM Revanth Reddy.

Rao further commented on statements made by Minister Seethakka, who questioned if peeling garlic was considered wrong. He clarified that they had no objections to women’s activities, whether peeling garlic, selling vegetables, or dancing. However, he stressed the need for more frequent bus services to prevent inconvenience for women.
