BHUPALAPALLY: The Saraswati Pushkaralu festival at Kaleshwaram is drawing crowds with the impressive Saraswati Navaratna Mala Harathi at the Triveni Sangamam.
Specially invited scholars from Kashi are leading this sacred river ceremony. Each evening, since the festival began, these priests have performed the Harathi, captivating attendees. Unlike in Kashi, where the Harathi requires viewing from boats on the Ganga, Kaleshwaram offers a unique experience. The riverbank stretches for about 3 to 4 kilometers, allowing devotees to watch the ceremony comfortably from the sandy banks at no cost.
Both VIPs and regular visitors have gathered in large numbers, thanks to district collector Rahul Sharma‘s meticulous planning. The Harathi lasts over an hour each night, keeping the crowd engaged and encouraging them to stay longer in Kaleshwaram. Many devotees choose to leave only after witnessing the Harathi, highlighting its significance.
On Sunday, Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji performed the Pushkara Snanam, adding to the spiritual atmosphere. Notable attendees included Minister Seethakka, MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, and CMO Secretary Srinivasa Raju.
