Hyderabad: The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) Chairman, Prof V Balakista Reddy, proudly announced Telangana’s growth as an educational center.
Speaking on Telangana State formation day, he remarked, “We prepare our youth for global leadership. Telangana now has 41 vibrant universities and institutions.”
Prof Reddy discussed four new universities established since the state’s formation. Veera Naari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University (VCIWU) empowers women through education. Young India Skill University (YISU) focuses on job-ready skills. Earth Sciences University in Kothagudem advances sustainable development. Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (SSCTU) aims to provide quality education for tribal communities.
He stressed that education should teach real-world skills, saying, “Knowledge is key, but applying it builds careers and contributes to state-building.”
Prof. Reddy outlined initiatives by TSCHE, including a partnership with T-SAT Network for digital learning, a collaboration with NASSCOM for industry skills, and an MoU with IIT Madras for research and innovation centers.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) also marked Telangana State Formation Day. They honored Dr B R Ambedkar near the library and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru by the administration building. Vice-Chancellor Dr T Kishen Kumar Reddy raised the national flag, highlighting educational institutions’ roles in the state’s progress.
He mentioned that JNTUH leads in preparing students for industry needs through platforms like J-Hub. Quality education is reaching everyone through sub-centers in Wanaparthy, Mahabub Nagar, Paleru, and Manta.
