Global beauty leader L’Oréal has announced the establishment of its first worldwide tech hub in Hyderabad, India, marking a significant milestone in the company’s digital transformation strategy. The announcement was made on January 21, 2026, following a high-level meeting at the World Economic Forum 2026 between company CEO Nicolas Hieronimus and senior officials from the Government of Telangana, including Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Electronics & Industries, and Shri Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary.
The new Beauty Tech hub will receive an initial investment of over ₹3,500 Crores (€350 million) through 2030. The facility is designed to become a global powerhouse for developing next-generation AI-powered beauty innovations and services. The hub will focus on leveraging Data, AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI technologies alongside other emerging technological solutions to revolutionize the beauty industry.
The establishment of this tech hub is expected to create 2,000 highly skilled advanced tech jobs in Hyderabad. These positions will include AI specialists, tech engineers, and data scientists who will work on accelerating the delivery of state-of-the-art, AI-powered beauty solutions at scale. The hub aims to build capabilities that serve global markets with innovation developed in India.
This landmark partnership represents a major milestone in the 2026 India-France Year of Innovation, strengthening technological cooperation between the two nations. The strategic alliance focuses not only on infrastructure development but also on upskilling local talent to create beauty solutions in AI and Generative AI “from India, for the world.” The initiative aligns with Telangana’s vision to become a global center for digital and tech excellence.
Shri Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, welcomed the partnership, stating that L’Oréal’s decision reflects the deep confidence global leaders place in Telangana’s innovation ecosystem and highly skilled talent pool. He emphasized that this partnership directly supports the state’s ‘Telangana Rising: 2047 Vision’ by creating high-value jobs and positioning the state as a global epicenter for AI and digital excellence.
The India Tech Hub will integrate into L’Oréal’s global AI and Tech network, which includes tech hubs in France, USA, China, Singapore, Spain, Poland, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. This integrated approach is designed to foster a culture of mutual enrichment and co-create the future of beauty technology across different markets and regions.
Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal, highlighted the company’s 31-year commitment to India and explained that the new hub will harness India’s world-class tech and AI engineering expertise. He stated that the future of beauty lies at the intersection of science, technology, and creativity, positioning Hyderabad at the heart of the company’s AI and digital ambition. The CEO emphasized that this Beauty Tech Hub reinforces L’Oréal’s commitment to India’s growth and its leading role in the India-France Year of Innovation.
Shri Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary of the Government of Telangana, noted that the establishment of L’Oréal’s Global Tech Hub aligns seamlessly with the state’s newly formed Telangana AI Hub. He explained that this initiative is designed to serve as a catalyst for applied AI, advanced data engineering, and next-generation digital capabilities. Together, these initiatives reinforce Hyderabad’s position as a global center where cutting-edge AI innovation is built, deployed, and scaled for worldwide applications.
