Construction of multiple flyovers and underpasses around KBR Park in Hyderabad is scheduled to commence next month, as soil testing enters its final stages. The ambitious infrastructure project aims to address the chronic traffic congestion that has long plagued the area, particularly around Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills Check Post, and Masab Tank. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is spearheading this development as part of a comprehensive city-wide infrastructure enhancement programme.
The state government has sanctioned a ₹1,090 crore plan to construct six flyovers and six underpasses in the vicinity of KBR Park. This extensive network is designed to create a signal-free corridor that will significantly reduce travel time for commuters navigating through one of Hyderabad’s busiest areas. The project is expected to transform traffic flow patterns and ease the daily bottlenecks experienced by thousands of motorists who traverse these congested routes.
Earlier challenges related to land acquisition that had delayed the project have now been successfully resolved. Property owners affected by the construction are being compensated through either cash payments or transferable development rights (TDR), clearing the way for work to proceed. The resolution of these land-related issues marks a crucial milestone in moving the long-awaited project from planning to execution phase.
With soil testing activities nearing completion, all preparatory work is on track for construction to begin next month. The completion of these flyovers and underpasses is anticipated to bring substantial relief to daily commuters who have endured persistent traffic congestion in the area. The infrastructure upgrade represents one of the most significant traffic improvement initiatives undertaken in this part of Hyderabad in recent years.
