Government lands in Madanapuram mandal worth crores have been encroached by land grabbers with alleged help from officials using fake documents for registration. These lands, which lack proper records, were reportedly changed to private ownership during the previous government’s tenure. The encroachers claim to have spent large sums of money to win over officials.

The Madanapuram market, once famous as the second Bombay in 1952, had 353 acres donated by Wanaparthy Raja Rameswar Rao. These lands were originally government-controlled and designated as agricultural market assets. However, over time, encroachers took control with the assistance of local representatives.

Officials under pressure and temptation are said to have altered records of ‘porambok’ and assigned lands. Concerned citizens are now calling for senior officials to step in and reclaim the lands from the encroachers.
