Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu has sent a formal letter to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) asking to postpone his scheduled appearance. He told the authorities that he would not be able to attend the inquiry tomorrow because he is busy shooting for his new movie.
Mahesh Babu explained in his letter that his work commitments are keeping him from attending the questioning. He requested the ED to give him a new date for his appearance.
The actor was summoned by the ED as part of a money laundering investigation involving some real estate companies in Hyderabad. Reports say that Mahesh Babu had endorsed projects by some of these companies, which are now being investigated for financial irregularities.
Sources mention that Mahesh Babu is not directly accused of any crime. However, the ED believes his statement is important for their ongoing investigation. So far, the ED has not officially responded to his request for a new date.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is busy filming ‘SSMB29’, a big-budget action-adventure movie directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The film includes complex scenes and large-scale production work.
