Hyderabad: Students at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) held a candlelight march on campus to protest a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The event was organized to support the victims and to speak out against terrorism.
Talha Mannan, a PhD scholar at the university, said that opposing terrorism is an important part of the Islamic faith. He explained that the attack in Kashmir goes against the principles of Islam, which promotes peace and justice.
Muqadas Kalas, a student from Kashmir, shared his sadness about the attack. He said it was not just an attack on tourists, but also on the identity and tourism of Kashmir. “We Kashmiris want peace, not fear, in our land,” he added.
Another scholar, Swaleh Wakeel, also condemned the attack and criticized the government. He blamed the BJP-led government and intelligence agencies for failing to prevent such incidents. He said the government should focus on protecting people instead of creating division.
During the march, students shouted slogans against terrorism and demanded that those in power be held responsible. Some even called for the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of neglecting national security.
The event ended with a moment of silence to honor the victims. Students reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity, and standing against violence.
