A Maoist militia commander and DAKMS president of Nemalaguda village in Chhattisgarh surrendered before the district police in Bhadrachalam. Podium Idumaiah, also known as Harish, and Uike Muthyalakka surrendered after being attracted by Operation Cheyutha.

Idumaiah joined the Maoist Militia in 2011 and became the commander of Nemalaguda RPC in 2022. Mutyalakka was recruited by Savitri as a member of DAKMS of Nemalaguda RPC.

The ASP advised people in agency villages not to cooperate with the banned CPI (Maoist) party and to fight against them to protect their rights. He mentioned that many Maoist leaders and members have decided to lead a peaceful life and surrender.
