Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi announced on Monday that 356 2BHK dignity houses were distributed under the GHMC limits, which made the dreams of the poor come true. The distribution took place in Narsing, and it marked the third batch of two-bedroom dignity houses being handed out. The Mayor emphasized that the Chief Minister’s promise of allowing the poor to live with self-respect was being fulfilled. She also warned that those who received double bedroom houses should not sell them, as legal action would be taken against both the sellers and buyers. The beneficiaries were grateful to the Mayor for her efforts in distributing the houses.
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi highlighted that the government ensured a transparent distribution process for the double-bedroom houses. In the first phase, the selection was done through a lottery system. However, in subsequent phases, all eligible individuals would receive a 2BHK house without any exceptions. This approach aimed to provide equal opportunities to everyone in need of housing assistance.
