Hyderabad: The Telangana State Government, represented by State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, emphasized their commitment to improving the lives of local residents. On Thursday, at the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, he officially opened the new ‘Telangana State Consular Waiting Area’. Built by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), this facility cost Rs 1.5 crore and includes modern amenities.
The Minister highlighted that the US Consulate in Hyderabad welcomes over 3,000 visitors daily. Recognizing the lack of adequate waiting facilities, the government decided to act. After assessing the situation, they created a modern waiting area equipped with advanced features. This effort reflects the government’s dedication to not only industrial and tech advancements but also to improving daily life for the people.
He also mentioned the ongoing efforts to enhance ties between Telangana and the United States. The US is a significant trade partner in areas like pharmaceuticals, aerospace, electronics, and electric vehicles. Notably, 38% of Telangana’s IT exports go to North America.
Hyderabad hosts major global companies such as Google, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft. In just January this year, US companies invested Rs 31,500 crore in Telangana, creating 30,000 jobs.
The new waiting area aims to boost not only business interactions but also foster closer connections between international communities. Hyderabad US Consul General Jennifer Larson and other notable figures attended the opening ceremony.
