Hyderabad: On July 30, 2025, Lieutenant General Sadhna S Nair, a high-ranking official in the Army Medical Corps, visited the Military Hospital in Secunderabad. Her visit aimed to boost the quality and innovation in military healthcare.
Brigadier Vishal Vir Sharma, the hospital’s Commandant, welcomed her. He shared insights on the hospital’s clinical services, strategic readiness, and infrastructure, emphasizing its key role in the Dakshin Bharat Area.
The General started her tour at the Cath Lab. There, she watched advanced heart procedures and emergency protocols. She praised the team’s high standards and quick responses during emergencies.
At the MRI Centre, she saw the use of high-resolution imaging that improves diagnosis accuracy. This technology is vital for handling complex medical cases. In the Birthing Centre, she spoke with staff about creating patient-friendly services and stressed the importance of support for mothers and newborns. She appreciated the upgraded neonatal and postnatal care, noting their positive impact.
The General reviewed the new Laboratory Information System (LIS). This system speeds up diagnostics, reduces delays, and minimizes errors, enhancing decision-making and service delivery.
Lieutenant General Nair also held talks with medical staff to foster feedback, collaboration, and new ideas. She praised the hospital’s ability to adapt to rising healthcare demands.
After her hospital tour, she visited the 454 Field Hospital. There, she received briefings on readiness, logistics, and medical support in field conditions.
She commended the dedication of all Army Medical Corps personnel, urging them to maintain a focus on patient care, technology, and service excellence.
