Hyderabad: On Monday, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma encouraged the Miss World 2025 contestants to return to their countries as cultural ambassadors of Telangana.
The Governor addressed the Miss World winners at Raj Bhavan during the Telangana Formation Day celebration. He congratulated them and expressed that while they came for the beauty pageant, they would leave as representatives of Telangana’s culture.
He emphasized that India is not just a collection of states but a union of hearts. “In Telangana, I see milestones of a developed India. There is unity here, blending progress with heritage,” Varma stated. He noted that Telangana is a state rich in history and inclusive, where everyone feels they belong.
Commenting on the plates used for serving food, Varma mentioned they are crafted with care from tribal villages, highlighting local action with a global mindset. He stressed the importance of environmental care and the love for tribal communities.
Varma described Telangana as vibrant and progressive, valuing its heritage. He emphasized the idea of a united India, “We talk of a United Bharat, which is a progressive Bharat.”
Miss World 2025 Opal Sucheta praised Telangana for its mix of culture, progress, and innovation. She found beauty in its people, places, and food, acknowledging its advanced medical technology. Sucheta expressed deep gratitude, cherishing her time in Telangana.
Miss Ethiopia Hasset Dereje appreciated the familial atmosphere in Telangana, feeling at home there.
Miss America Jessica Pedroso shared that she learned about unity in diversity in Telangana. Miss World Caribbean Aurelie Joachim felt a connection to the state, and Miss World Osiana Jasmine Stringer was impressed by the incredible hospitality.
