Gadwal: In a recent press meeting at the Gadwal district headquarters, MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy assured locals that the Priyadarshini Joorala Project is structurally sound for the next 100 years. He urged everyone, including political figures and media, to stop spreading false rumors and instead engage in discussions that benefit the community.
State Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and Fisheries Minister V. Srinivas Goud visited the Joorala Project and Rayalampadu Reservoir recently. During this visit, an ex-legislator allegedly suggested that heavy traffic might cause the project’s collapse. Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy dismissed these claims as fear-mongering and stressed that while minor issues may exist, the project is far from collapsing. “People are being misled,” he said, emphasizing the need for facts.
The MLA highlighted that no government would wish harm on public infrastructure. Instead, past and current administrations focus on enhancing and modernizing irrigation projects. The government is committed to resolving issues and strengthening structures for public welfare.
He invited the media to inspect the project, stating that claims about the dam’s dangerous condition are unfounded. Officials are inspecting it safely, and the media can witness this firsthand. He urged journalists to report accurately and help prevent misinformation.
Addressing political criticism, Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy stated his support for the ruling party is driven by a commitment to Gadwal’s growth. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure improvements for farmers, traders, and residents, aiming to make Gadwal a model constituency.
In his term, Gattu Mandal has seen literacy rise to 62%, and Gadwal has witnessed urban and rural developments, such as:
- Construction of CC roads
- Improved drainage systems
- Upgraded village infrastructure
- Beautification of Gadwal town
Despite minor delays, efforts continue to address these issues. With dedication, MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy pledged lifelong commitment to Gadwal’s development.
The press meet saw participation from local leaders, including Joint District Director Subhan, Former MPP Pratap Goud, and others. As tensions rise and rumors spread, Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy’s invitation to journalists to see the Joorala Project aims for transparency. The media’s response to this call for factual reporting remains to be seen.
