    National Conference on Education and Technology Held in Hyderabad

    The National Education Policy (NEP-2020) is an important step for the country’s future and aims to empower every child, said Jishnu Dev Varma, Telangana Governor and Chief Rector of the University of Hyderabad (UoH). He spoke at the opening of a two-day national conference on ‘Trends and Insights in Educational Technology Post-NEP 2020’ on Monday.

    The event was organized by the Department of Education and Education Technology, School of Social Sciences, UoH. The main goal of the conference is to connect research, policies, and practical applications in educational technology. Experts at the event stressed the importance of hands-on learning, learning outside the classroom, and inquiry-based learning.

    During his speech, Jishnu Dev Varma highlighted the role of education in inspiring young people. He also spoke about India’s traditional education system, which follows the guru-shishya parampara (teacher-student relationship). He stated that education helps people use technology for the benefit of humanity and promotes continuous learning. He hoped that discussions at the conference would lead to new opportunities and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

    Prof. B J Rao, Vice-Chancellor of UoH, explained that education shapes the mind, while technology serves as a helpful tool. Usha Subramanian, a professor at Chanakya University in Bengaluru, added that technology cannot replace human intelligence, and it must be used responsibly.
