In Gadwal, the Telangana Formation Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Nadigadda Rights Struggle Committee (NHPS) District Office on June 2. The event started with Gongalla Ranjith Kumar, the district chairman, honoring Professor Jayashankar and Mucherla Satyanarayana by placing garlands on their portraits, followed by the national flag hoisting. Ranjith Kumar wished the people of Telangana and Jogulamba Gadwal district on the state’s 10th anniversary.
Ranjith Kumar spoke about the emotional journey towards achieving statehood for Telangana. He acknowledged the sacrifices of over 1,200 martyrs who died in the struggle, starting from 1969, which led to the formation of the state on June 2, 2014. He paid tribute to Professor K. Jayashankar, a key visionary, and Sangam Reddy Satyanarayana, also known as Mucherla Satyanarayana, a poet-warrior and former minister who fought for Telangana’s rights and identity.
Ranjith Kumar criticized both past and present governments for not keeping their promises made during the statehood movement. He accused the local MLA, who switched to the ruling party under the guise of development, of ignoring significant issues in the area. He highlighted the lack of progress in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, which continues to trouble the people. He stated that the local MLA has failed to address these problems and deliver promised welfare schemes.
The NHPS committed to continuing their fight for public rights, focusing on education, healthcare, and local development. Ranjith Kumar vowed that the committee would educate villagers in every mandal and hold authorities accountable for public issues.
The event was attended by several key NHPS figures, including District Convener Bucchibabu, District Secretary Lavanna, and District Leaders Rangaswamy, Venkatramulu, and Jammanna. Gadwal Mandal Leaders such as Gouni Srinivas Yadav and Karthik were present, along with Mandal Presidents like Balram Naidu and Govindu. Other leaders included Meesala Kishtanna, Lakshmanna, Bhoopathi Naidu, and Ashanna. KT Doddi Mandal Leaders like Subhash and Gajendra also attended. Active participants included Gopal, Bhangi Ramesh, Nagesh, and others.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to grassroots activism and community development, honoring the spirit of the Telangana movement.
