Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma attended the opening of the “Liberation of Hyderabad Samsthan” Redeveloped Digital Gallery at Parade Ground, Secunderabad. This 3D virtual museum showcases the city’s historic integration into India.
The event was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Hyderabad and developed by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) with help from the Salar Jung Museum. The gallery provides a detailed look at Hyderabad’s journey to liberation as part of the Liberation Day Photo Exhibition. It aims to inform citizens about the region’s political and social changes.
Highlights of the gallery include rare photos and documents from the Nizam era, multimedia presentations on nationalism and Operation Polo, and interactive timelines and maps about Hyderabad’s crisis and integration. It offers multilingual access in English, Hindi, and Telugu and features enhanced 3D effects and background music for a fully immersive experience.
The gallery has five sections: the historical background, socio-cultural awakening, political movements, India’s independence, and the military operation that merged Hyderabad with India.
Minister Kishan Reddy called the initiative crucial for preserving Hyderabad’s history and making it accessible. He said, “This digital museum is a bridge to the future, inspiring civic pride and national unity.”
Governor Verma praised the organizers for highlighting the state’s freedom struggle and honoring the key events that shaped the city’s identity.
