Hyderabad: Manmeet Kaur, a Director from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), visited newly built double bedroom houses in G Y Reddy Nagar, Bansilalpet, and Khairtabad on Wednesday. These houses are part of Telangana’s 2BHK housing scheme. Her main focus was to check the construction quality and ensure guidelines were followed.
GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, Housing Corporation MD Gautam, and other officials joined her. Kaur also visited the homes of beneficiaries in Indira Nagar to talk with them. She asked about their previous living conditions before they received the housing. They explained they used to live in single-room huts on the same site. Kaur also asked for their feedback on any problems with the housing complex and its management.
A member of the Residential Welfare Association informed her that commercial shops have been rented out to fund the maintenance of the complex, such as lift and electricity bills.
Women beneficiaries were asked about the availability of nearby Anganwadi centres, Basti Dawakhana (local clinics), and schools. They confirmed that all these facilities, including a school, are easily accessible in Indira Nagar Colony. Kaur stated that officials would be instructed to organize fairs to provide Central Government schemes to eligible people.
