    Hyderabad is preparing for a peaceful and clean Bakrid celebration. A meeting was held at the Salar Jung Museum Auditorium on Tuesday, led by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand. Officials from departments like Animal Husbandry, GHMC, RTA, TGSPDCL, and HMWSS&B attended.

    CV Anand announced that checkpoints will be set up around the city to prevent illegal animal transport and ensure security. He reminded the public that only officials and police are allowed to stop or check vehicles.

    Designated police, GHMC, and Animal Husbandry staff will manage these checkpoints, with full police support promised. The Commissioner emphasized that coordination and proactive measures will help residents celebrate a safe and enjoyable Bakrid.

    Veterinary doctors will be available at all checkpoints, as instructed to the Animal Husbandry Department and GHMC. GHMC will also deploy teams to catch stray dogs and distribute disposal covers for animal carcasses. Special teams will handle waste collection on the festival day.

    The Electricity and Engineering Departments must provide uninterrupted power during the festival. HMWSS&B and engineering officials will ensure continuous water supply and maintain the sewerage systems.

    RTA officials were asked to ensure enough drivers, mechanics, and cranes are available.

    Muslim religious leaders and community representatives urged proper animal waste disposal and street cleanliness, emphasizing cooperation with the police and other officials. They highlighted maintaining the city’s cultural harmony and peaceful environment.

    The GHMC Zonal Commissioner detailed sanitation plans, including additional teams and waste collection near mosques and wards. Garbage bags will be provided, and GHMC officials will be actively working.

    Notable attendees included Vikram Singh Mann, Additional CP, Law and Order; GHMC Charminar Zonal Commissioner; Raghu Prasad, RTO-2 CZ Khairatabad; Dr Malleswari, police and veterinary staff, and MLAs like Majid Hussain (Nampally), Kausar Mohiuddin (Karwan), Zulfiqar Ali (Charminar), Jaffer Hussain Meraj (Yakutpura), MLC Mirza Rahmat Ali Baig, religious leaders, Qureshis, and Maulanas.
