In Hyderabad, police raided a shop in Old Mallepally where fake oxytocin injections were being sold at high prices. Three people were arrested and a large quantity of phenol I.P. injections was seized.
The arrested individuals were Suresh Kumar Gupta (70), Lala Babu Yadav (35), and Abdul Haji (28). The police confiscated 100 bottles of fake oxytocin injections, along with other items like acetic acid and phenol I.P.
Oxytocin is banned by the government for veterinary use due to its misuse in extracting milk from cattle. Lala Babu Yadav was making fake oxytocin injections with phenol I.P., a poisonous substance, acetic acid, and water.
These fake injections were then sold to cattle feed shops and dairies in Hyderabad by Suresh Kumar Gupta. Farmers unknowingly used these dangerous injections on their cattle, putting both animals and consumers at risk.
The accused individuals are facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Suresh Kumar Gupta has been involved in similar cases in the past.
