Following a report in The Hans India about fake certificates used for army jobs, the police in Adilabad district launched a deeper investigation. On June 25, police at the Ichoda station found that Sahani Suraj had used a fake residence certificate claiming he was from Islamnagar to get a job in the CISF. However, he was actually from Uttar Pradesh.
Investigations showed that nine others from UP also used fake certificates. They paid locals in Ichoda Rs 1 lakh each for Aadhaar and residence documents. Deepak Tiwari first paid Rs 4,000 to get a fake Aadhaar card. When the Panchayat Secretary refused to sign a residence certificate, Shaikh Fareed and Shaikh Khaleem forged the signature. They used MeeSeva to obtain a fake certificate.
After Deepak got the job, eight others used the same method. Checks confirmed none were from Islamnagar, but Fareed and Khaleem still provided them with fake documents. They collected a total of Rs 9 lakh, keeping Rs 3 lakh and sending Rs 6 lakh to Hurlik, UP. When Jadhav Gajanand, a local, discovered the scam, he demanded money. Fareed and Khaleem paid him ₹20,000. All three were arrested on June 28.
ASP Kajal Singh IPS said the accused helped outsiders use fake certificates to secure defense jobs. More details will be shared as the investigation continues. Ichoda CI Bandari Raju and SI V Vishnuvardhan were present at the press meet.
