Hyderabad police recently stopped a large illegal rave called the ‘Trap House Party’ at a farmhouse in Moinabad, near the city. Among the 65 people detained, many were minors, and some were reportedly from other countries. The event, which required tickets for entry and involved drugs and alcohol, has raised serious concerns about youth safety and international crime.
The Cyberabad police’s Special Operations Team (SOT) acted on a tip-off about a possible drug party. They raided the Cherry Oaks/Oaks Farmhouse at night. The party was heavily marketed on Instagram by a Hyderabad DJ and aimed at young people. About 22–25 minors attended, with some reports suggesting up to 50 underage participants, including at least five girls.
This was a well-planned event with tickets sold at Rs 1,600 for singles and Rs 2,800 for couples. Young professionals and college students attended. Officers found minors, some only 15 years old, drinking alcohol in a setting with loud music and dim lights.
The event was organized by Ishaan, a college student recently back from abroad, possibly Canada or London. He is suspected of frequent drug use and has organized similar parties before.
Some attendees were from other countries, adding an international aspect to the investigation. Ishaan has connections abroad, and the event included foreign liquor and digital ticket sales, which are under investigation for international involvement.
Police seized about 10 bottles of foreign liquor, DJ gear, and participants’ mobile phones. Drug tests showed at least two people, including Ishaan and one minor, had used marijuana.
All attendees, especially minors, were detained, and their families were informed. Charges have been filed under the NDPS Act and other laws for illegal gathering, unauthorized sale, and consumption of alcohol and drugs, as well as endangering minors.
Managed by Ishaan and promoted via the ‘Trap House’ Instagram account, digital investigations are ongoing. Authorities are examining past events, networks, financial links, supplier connections, and any recruitment of minors.
