The Jadcherla Rural police in Mahbubnagar, led by CI T. Nagarjuna Goud, have cracked a case involving a fake Maoist letter threatening MLA Anirudh Reddy and his supporters. The investigation resulted in the arrest of three individuals, while one suspect is still on the run.

The case came to light on January 10, 2025, when a man named Chittanuri Ravi Kumar from Rangareddyguda filed a complaint. A threatening letter had been pasted on his house. The letter, falsely issued under the name of the “Communist Party of India (Maoist) Telangana State Committee,” accused MLA Anirudh Reddy and his supporters, aiming to harm their reputations and create fear.

The police identified the main accused as Shaikh Rafiq, also known as Balu. Rafiq was a former political associate of the MLA but became unhappy over a lack of financial gains and later joined the BRS party. To tarnish the MLA’s image, Rafiq collaborated with two accomplices, Kummari Bhagwantu and Mohammad Shah Ali. The group used a printing press in Shadnagar to create fake Maoist letterheads and drafted threatening letters.
