Political figures including Arvind Kejriwal and Mallikarjun Kharge are facing accusations of making inciting remarks about the caste of President Droupadi Murmu during the inauguration of the new Parliament Building. The complaint claims that they were attempting to create animosity between communities for their own political gain. The complaint was recorded using sections 121, 153A, 505, and 34 of the IPC.

Opposition parties released a joint statement where they mentioned that despite their disapproval of the way the new Parliament was built, they were willing to put their differences aside to mark the occasion. They also criticized the decision to inaugurate the parliament by PM Modi, calling it an insult and a direct assault on democracy.
