Hyderabad: Today, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar opened the BC Cell at the Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University in Rajendranagar.
Present at the event were State BC Commission Chairman G. Niranjan, Rajendranagar MLA T. Prakash Goud, and PJTAU Vice Chancellor Professor Aldas Janaiah. Professor Dr. CH. Damodar Raju took charge as the BC Cell Officer.
Minister Prabhakar first honored Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, and Professor Jayashankar. After the BC Cell opening, he also inaugurated a seminar hall in the college’s academic block. He met with students and staff, praising the establishment of the BC Cell and suggesting similar setups in state departments and educational institutions. He clarified that these BC Cells are inclusive initiatives.
Prabhakar affirmed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government will strongly advocate for BC reservations. He urged support for their efforts to ensure a prosperous future for everyone and warned against hindrances due to selfish motives. He highlighted the benefits of reservations for students and staff and encouraged scientists to innovate for farmers, emphasizing agriculture as a government priority. He mentioned the Rythu Bharosa fund release by the state cabinet at the university and promised transport solutions for farmers and students.
He assured a review of pending student scholarships. The Minister praised PJTAU’s dual degree program with Western Sydney University as a major advancement. He promised to consider financial support for UG and PG students in this collaboration. Prabhakar announced a Rs 10 lakh allocation from T. Prakash Goud for BC Cell infrastructure.
G. Niranjan expressed joy at the BC Cell setup 60 years after the university’s start and the appointment of a BC Vice-Chancellor. He emphasized collaboration among all communities for national progress, highlighting the BC Cell’s benefits for university employees and students. T. Prakash Goud expressed satisfaction with the BC Cell and praised Vice Chancellor Janaiah for his dedication to the university’s growth.
Vice Chancellor Aldas Janaiah stated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government will uphold constitutional values, focusing on democracy, social justice, and inclusive development. He assured commitment to the welfare of everyone at the university, inspired by the Chief Minister’s vision.
