Hyderabad: The Department of Intermediate Education held the first online session of ‘Project SERVE’ on Wednesday. The session focused on communication and interview skills and took place at two government junior colleges in Hyderabad.
This session was part of a pilot programme and saw active participation from students. Project SERVE is a new initiative launched in collaboration with the Ek Step Foundation. It aims to improve the quality of education in government junior and vocational colleges using online tools and digital platforms.
Krishna Aditya, Director of the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE), said that the phased rollout of digital education by the Ek Step Foundation will help solve problems like faculty shortages, skill gaps, and high dropout rates. In the pilot phase, digital classrooms will be introduced at the Government Vocational Junior College in Nampally and the Government Junior College in Chanchalguda. A shared online platform will be used to broadcast lessons, making sure students continue to learn even if teachers are unavailable.
Communication expert Vara Prasad spoke during the session about the importance of motivation, discipline, dedication, continuous learning, peace of mind, body language, and self-confidence for success. He also mentioned that all colleges have been asked to carry out a 21-day development programme. This programme will focus on improving attendance, attention, respect, innovation, discipline, and dedication among students, with the goal of helping every student succeed.
