The BC Bandh in Telangana continues as the BC IKA leads efforts for fair reservations for Backward Classes. Many political and social groups actively participate. Besides essential services, most sectors are observing the bandh. Congress, BJP, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), CPI, CPM, Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS), CPI-M New Democracy, and Maoist parties have all expressed their backing. Various organizations, including MRPS, Malamahanadu, Adivasi, Tribal, Minority, Student, and Public groups, are also involved.
Protesters have gathered at RTC depots in district centers. Many have blocked buses from leaving depots. In Hyderabad, RTC buses remain parked at depots. Key protest spots include the Uppal and Chengicherla depots, where about 125 buses at Kukatpally are halted, disrupting public transport. Roads in several areas are noticeably empty.
In Dilsukhnagar, tensions rose as protesters took to the streets in front of RTC depots, stopping buses. Congress leaders and members of other caste groups joined the protests, leading to clashes with police.
Prominent personalities like BJP MP Etala Rajender participated in demonstrations at the Jubilee Bus Stand in Secunderabad. Similarly, RTC services faced restrictions in the joint Warangal district. BRS leader Srinivas Goud held a sit-in protest outside the Mahabubnagar RTC depot.
