Nalgonda: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy emphasized the state government’s focus on public welfare and good governance. During the Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam, he raised the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds in Nalgonda and received a police guard of honor.

He spoke about the sacrifices made for India’s Independence and the formation of Telangana, highlighting Nalgonda district’s significant role in the Telangana movement and the fight against the Nizam’s rule, which ended on September 17.

The Minister honored Telangana martyrs and outlined various welfare and development projects: renaming Koti Women’s University after Chakali Ailamma, naming the Handloom Technology Institute after Konda Laxman Bapuji, introducing a job calendar, free RTC bus travel for women under the Mahalakshmi scheme, increasing Aarogyasri health coverage to Rs 10 lakh, providing LPG cylinders at Rs 500, launching Indiramma housing, offering 200 free electricity units under Grihajyothi, and implementing widespread farm loan waivers.

He mentioned that in Nalgonda, loans totaling Rs 2,044.83 crore were waived, helping over 2.33 lakh farmers.

He also announced the adoption of the Telangana State song “Jaya Jaya He Telangana” by Andeshri, new awards named after folk singer Gaddar, and the installation of Telangana Talli statues in government offices. Initiatives for women include SHG-run petrol stations, Adarsha school committees, and international-standard residential schools.

Discussing development, the Minister highlighted progress on SLBC works, irrigation projects, bypass roads, nursing colleges, skill centers, and new institutions at Mahatma Gandhi University. The state is urging the Centre for major road projects like the Hyderabad-Vijayawada 8-lane highway and the Regional Ring Road.

District Collector Ila Tripathi, District SP Sarath Chandra Pawar, Devarakonda MLA Nenavath Balunayak, Nakirekal MLA Vemula Veeresham, MLC Shankar Nayak, Library Chairman Hafeez Khan, Revenue Additional Collector J. Srinivas, other officials, public representatives, and students joined the celebrations, which featured cultural programs.
