Hyderabad: N. Ramchander Rao, the BJP Telangana State President, led a workshop on Tuesday in Aushapur, Ghat Kesar. The focus was preparing for local elections with a clear strategy.
Rao spoke to party members, stressing the need for teamwork to grow the BJP’s presence in the state. He encouraged everyone to work hard, highlighting the party’s strong position in Telangana’s villages. “People want a BJP government,” Rao stated confidently.
He pointed out the party’s growth: from having just one MLA and four MPs to now holding seven MLAs, eight MPs, and three MLCs. This growth shows increasing public support.
Rao criticized the current Congress-led government, accusing it of following corrupt policies like the previous BRS government. He mentioned broken promises, especially around reservation policies. “The Congress promised 42% reservation for BCs but now wants to include 10% religious reservations,” he said, calling this unfair to backward classes.
He argued that these religious-based policies divide people and aim to gain votes. Rao reminded everyone of the BJP’s past opposition to 4% religious reservations in education and jobs, accusing Congress of continuing these divisive tactics for political benefits.
The BJP leader urged for a pushback against what he described as Congress’s “anti-people policies.” He emphasized reaching out to citizens and addressing their concerns. “We must all move forward together,” he encouraged.
Rao called for unity and collective action to secure victories in local elections and future assembly contests. The workshop kicked off the BJP’s intensified campaign plans across the state ahead of the local elections.
