Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is concerned about the growing dissent within the party regarding the selection of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This disagreement became more pronounced after the announcement of the second list of candidates, where three nominees were considered ‘parachute candidates’ and two were relatives of Assembly Legislators.
Some senior members of the party have raised concerns and even written to AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge expressing their displeasure. Revanth, who is working to unite the party for the elections, is disappointed by this development. Party leaders are warning those who challenge the decisions of possible disciplinary action, especially those who speak out in the media.
PCC working president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has stated that action will be taken against anyone who speaks against the party’s decisions in the media. He emphasized the importance of accepting party decisions and discussing any differences internally. The nomination of Mallu Ravi, the brother of Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, has caused controversy within and outside the party, particularly among the Madiga community.
To address this issue, Chief Minister Revanth held a meeting with former MLA SA Sampath Kumar and other leaders to strategize on winning Madiga votes. The meeting focused on consolidating support from the Madiga community, which has traditionally supported the party.
