Basara, Nirmal: The contract lecturers at RGUKT Basara have entered the eighth day of their indefinite strike, continuing their protest for better job security.

Their main demand is simple — they want the government to regularize their jobs. Many of them have been teaching at the university for over 17 years, but they still work on a contract basis with low salaries.

Holding signs that said “CM Respond”, the lecturers made a public appeal to the Chief Minister to take action. They said their dedication has always been toward ensuring the success of their students, despite their uncertain job status.

The faculty pointed out that while the previous government regularized some staff in the Education Department, it ignored university-level contract lecturers. They now hope the current administration will fix that oversight.
