The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has started a weekly action plan to make sure all garbage is collected from people’s homes and to get rid of Garbage Vulnerable Points. GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose told GHMC officers to follow this plan in all neighborhoods.
The main goal of the weekly Basti Action Plan is to collect all trash from homes and eliminate GVPs. Meetings have been held in all neighborhoods with Self Help Groups (SHGs), auto drivers, and SLF members. They have identified places where garbage collection needs improvement and connected over 1,23,582 homes to garbage collection services.
Additionally, there have been rallies, motivational programs, rangoli events, and meetings with the Town Vending Committee. Workers have been recognized for their efforts in eliminating GVPs. The weekly plan includes meetings, identifying homes for garbage collection, rallies, motivational events, rangoli art, Town Vending Committee meetings, and weekend pledges.
Overall, GHMC is working hard to ensure all garbage is collected and GVPs are eliminated in Hyderabad.
