Rangareddy:
The administration in Ranga Reddy district is taking a tough stand against the illegal occupation of government lands. They plan to frequently monitor the extent of these encroachments and discuss action plans with various department officials before implementing them.
District collector K Shashanka had a meeting with officials from the Revenue, Municipal Administration, and Irrigation departments on Wednesday. They talked about ways to prevent illegal land encroachments across the district.
One major topic was the implementation of the LRS (Layout Regularisation Scheme) reintroduced by the government. The officials discussed how to make the application process simpler and more transparent while following the policy guidelines.
The collector emphasized the need for municipal, revenue, and irrigation officials to work together according to the scheme’s guidelines for regularizing plots and layouts.
He explained that the regularization of HMDA layouts within municipalities would be handled by municipal commissioners. Cases outside municipal limits would be looked into by the district collector.
The application process under the LRS will have three stages. First, applications will be filtered by a system managed by CGG. Then, multi-disciplinary teams of officials will conduct field verifications. Finally, municipal commissioners, the Urban Development Authority, and collectors will do the final verification before approval.
Multi-disciplinary teams consisting of Revenue, Irrigation, and Municipal officials will be formed to scrutinize LRS applications, aiding the implementation process.
The collector stressed the importance of transparency in the process and warned officials against neglecting their duties.
