Sanitation Workers Honored on International Women’s Day in Mahabubnagar

Mahabubnagar: To celebrate International Women’s Day, Villages In Partnership (VIP) and the residents of Padmavathi Colony, Mahabubnagar, honored women municipal sanitation workers for their hard work and dedication.

At a special event, five of the six workers present were recognized with a shawl, a badge, a cash award of ₹1,116, and fruits. Members of the colony, including Mr. Koppula Srinivas, Mrs. Rekha, Mr. Chandrasekhar Yadav, Mr. Damodar Goud, Mr. Lalu, and Mr. Anji, also contributed by offering shawls and monetary gifts.

The badges given to the workers carried a message in Telugu, appreciating their efforts in keeping the streets clean and making the community a better place.

Dr. T. Nagender Swamy, Executive Director of VIP, spoke at the event, expressing gratitude for the women’s service. He explained that the initiative aimed to make them feel valued and appreciated. He also encouraged the community to maintain cleanliness by following the administration’s guidelines.

The honored sanitation workers were Smt. Balakistamma, Smt. Alivela, Smt. Narsamma, Smt. Bheemamma, Smt. Shivamma, and Smt. Mangamma. In response, Smt. Alivela thanked the residents and Villages In Partnership for their kindness and recognition.
