Hyderabad: Former IPS officer and Jai Bharat party president, V V Lakshmi Narayana, has praised a new initiative that uses satellite technology to deliver lessons to students in rural and remote areas. What makes this initiative special is that it doesn’t require internet access, which is often unavailable in some villages.
On Monday, Lakshmi Narayana inaugurated a satellite digital education studio at Lakdi-Ka-Pul. This studio was set up by Meta Learn Inspire Private Limited, powered by iLearn Engines, and supported by Grameena Vidya Jyothi Bharat Private Limited.
During the event, Narayana pointed out that even though the internet is common in many places, there are still areas where it is not available. He applauded the organizations involved for using satellite technology to help students in these regions. He called this a positive development and emphasized that education is the most powerful tool for change. He expressed hope that this technology would be introduced in more states soon.
Dr. Soma Sekhar, the founder of Grameena Vidya Jyothi, explained that they are initially focusing on bringing this technology to budget schools in rural areas with the help of TRSMA. He added that students would be able to learn through TVs, as the lessons will be broadcasted using satellite technology, eliminating the need for an internet connection. Sekhar also shared plans to gradually expand this method to more schools in the future.
