A new cable bridge is being built in Hyderabad, connecting the Chinthal Met Road with the Bangalore National Highway across the Mir Alam pond. The Telangana government has approved the construction of a four-lane high-level bridge at a cost of Rs.363 crores.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi expressed gratitude to the Telangana CMO for approving the construction of the bridge. He mentioned that this project has been pending for a long time and will not only improve livelihoods but also provide recreational space for the people.
The second cable bridge in Hyderabad will be 2.65 km long and constructed over the Mir Alam pond. Plans for land acquisition have been made for this project, which will help reduce traffic congestion and boost tourism in the city. The Mir Alam Pond, named after a former Prime Minister of Hyderabad State, used to be a primary source of drinking water before the establishment of other reservoirs.
Hyderabad’s first cable bridge, the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge near Inorbit Mall in Madhapur, has already reduced travel time between Jubilee Hills and the financial district. The new cable bridge over the Mir Alam tank will be the second in Hyderabad once completed, as the city continues to develop as a tourist destination under the Congress government’s initiatives.
