Hyderabad has tightened security across the city after India launched air strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
The Telangana government has increased vigilance, especially around critical defence establishments. The Integrated Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad is now linked with all major defence facilities to monitor the situation round the clock.
Key police officials have been tasked with boosting security in Hyderabad and other sensitive regions across the state. State police are now working alongside Central paramilitary forces to guard vital locations like the DRDL, DRDO, BDL, DMRL, Hyderabad Defence Academy, the Ordnance Factory in Medak, and the Indian Air Force Station in Hakimpet.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage continuously to prevent any threats. Security teams are keeping a close eye on every movement around these defence zones.
At a high-level meeting, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy stressed the need for national unity and support for the Indian Army. He urged all political groups to act responsibly and avoid unnecessary comments during this tense period.
The Chief Minister also ordered police to identify and detain any illegal residents from Pakistan and Bangladesh. He asked for a stronger communication system to be set up in the command centre to respond quickly to any incidents.
To tackle misinformation, the CM directed the formation of a Special Cell focused on fighting fake news that could cause fear or confusion. He warned that anyone spreading false information would face serious consequences.
All CCTV networks across the three police commissionerates in Greater Hyderabad are now being integrated into the command centre. Security is also being upgraded in all district headquarters and known high-risk zones.
The government is keeping a close watch on foreign consulates and major IT companies in Hyderabad until the situation stabilizes. These locations are considered potential targets and require extra attention.
Police have been told to stay on high alert and, if needed, coordinate with local Peace Committees to maintain calm in sensitive areas. Officers will also monitor known criminals to prevent any anti-social activity during this period of heightened tension.
